But as discussed in our article on feasting your way through Jazz Fest, doubling up on your favorite Jazz Fest foods may prevent you from enjoying the bounty from the Fair Grounds. So much to eat, so little stomach space to spare. You can read up on our tips for a multi-course Jazz Fest meal by clicking on the above link or by picking up a copy of OffBeat Magazine's Jazz Fest Bible on your way into the festival.
The food at Jazz Fest has been written about ad nauseum, so we will spare you from another Top 10 list. Instead, we want to know what you think are the most underrated and the most overrated eats at the Fest.
I'll start:
Most Underrated - Fatty's Cracklins
Most Overrated - Crawfish Enchiladas
8 comments:
under - Alligator sauce piquante
over - dare I say it? Crawfish bread. (Tthe sausage has much more of the namesake ingredient)
Overrated: I agree with the other commenter. Crafwish bread. They use Chinese crawfish.
Under Rated: Palmer's Veggie combo. Simple perfection.
Overated: BBQ Oyster Poboy. Sloppy pile of flavorless mess.
Chicken fricasse from the spot near Congo Square is the most underrated dish in the whole city. The Crawfish Trinity: bread, sack, Monica are vastly overrated.

Over: Crawfish bread for sure
Under: Yakamein, Dibbe (steak pita)
Crawfish Monica might be the single most overrated food item yet invented.
Underrated.. Maybe the Cuban sandwich or the Fry Bread tacos.
