Perhaps because it's not on the buffet, you probably missed the best dish in the house, Shrimp Clemenceau. It's one of the best dishes in the city. Have that from the menu and you'll understand the hype. Have a good day..

Jonathanjshushannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-625514177505810173.post-41945828813912055272012-07-24T09:27:39.437-07:002012-07-24T09:27:39.437-07:00I've been to Dooky Chase's several times f...I've been to Dooky Chase's several times for lunch and I can answer one of your questions: they do serve their full lunch menu in addition to the buffet. I think the buffet is something like $12.95, and it includes a cup of soup/gumbo to start and peach cobbler at the end.

Fried chicken has always been there when I've been there, but my sample size of a half a dozen times doesn't represent every day, of course.

Willie Mae's is a pretty special and different kind of fried chicken. I'd say DC's is more traditional, but just as delicious. The only way to figure out which is better for you is to try them both!Norahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06500753538324930012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-625514177505810173.post-13681930384077877362012-07-24T07:58:29.636-07:002012-07-24T07:58:29.636-07:00I'm glad you reviewed Dooky's, I have been...I'm glad you reviewed Dooky's, I have been interested in eating there. But the post could have contained a little more information, such as the price. How much is it for the buffet? Why is fried chicken not always available? What meat is available in its place? How does the fried chicken compare to Willie Mae's, right around the corner? Is the buffet the only thing available, or is there a menu, too? Questions, questions, questions.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-625514177505810173.post-39917399382131279622012-07-24T07:27:05.879-07:002012-07-24T07:27:05.879-07:00I've actually found the opposite. With young Dooky in the kitchen, after a foray at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, I find the food more focused and they are using better base products.Renehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10779979025693551840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-625514177505810173.post-3603632829737392552012-07-24T07:26:34.063-07:002012-07-24T07:26:34.063-07:00mehmehAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-625514177505810173.post-77176240220476984852012-07-24T07:23:36.845-07:002012-07-24T07:23:36.845-07:00Surprised at the high honors.
